corps_rennes-roue-libre_100823Thanks to the GPS function of the iPhone, the new free application “Rennes en Roue” is helping users of STAR Cycle, the free bike service of Rennes, find their nearest stations, its number of available bikes and e-mail this information to friends. The urban cyclist can also record his or her favorite stations so they can later access them with a single click.  An Interview with the creators of the application Actuvisu reveals that the latter was originally created for Vélib in Paris, but after JCDecaux turned it down, Rennes picked it up, where Kéolis, the delegate of the Rennes public transport service agreed to open its data network (open data).
