With Weezevent, event organisers can open their own online ticketing
par Adrien Geneste | 06.06.11

Created in 2008 on Pierre-Henri Deballon, Sébastien Tonglet and Yann Pagès’s initiative, Weezevent is a young French start-up located in Dijon, offering event organisers to easily create and manage a ticketing service to sell their electronic tickets, whatever the size of the event and with no need to sign a mail order agreement with the bank. Rewarded during the latest edition of the City of Paris Grand Prizes for Innovation for its concept making life easier in urban areas while developing the latter’s economic network, Weezevent is planning to make creation of online ticketing much easier. A concept that radically reduces management costs for organisers of all kinds of events.
Solutions fit for everyone
With Weezevent, concert, party or exhibition organisers can configure their ticketing service as they please thanks to the many settings available, among which number of seats, prices, discounts, communication, listing, e-shopping, editing electronic or paper tickets… The whole event is managed through Cloud Computing. Once all the data have been entered, owners of online ticketing services only have to edit widgets that will be included in their websites, blogs and social networks. Thanks to this system, the targeted audience can easily have access to the platform and directly pay online.
Through this system and thanks to selling task automation, Weezevent enables a great number of event organisers, such as students’ unions or small associations, to sell their tickets without having to pay heavy distribution costs via an intermediary. The icing on the cake is that each ticket can be personalised depending on the parties and events.
As well as these tools, Weezevent also offers organisers a value-added service. Indeed white label mini-websites dedicated to organised events are made available to event creators, enabling them not to display the Weezevent brand but their event’s corporate identity only.
Particularly low costs
If Weezevent differs from most of the online ticketing actors, it is also because of its rates. While most of the time tickets sellers act as intermediaries between event organisers and ticket buyers, Weezevent enables event organisers to distribute tickets themselves, taxing only 2.5% of the price. The online ticketing solution is therefore “free” in itself and can thus be used to organise free events.
And the concept seems to have hit the bull’s eye. Since the system has been launched in 2009, almost 573,000 tickets have been sold by over 5,000 different organisers, among whom AaRon, Charlélie Couture, the Motocross World Championship and the Japan Expo. This success has encouraged Weezevent to undertake capital raising and target Germany, England, Spain and Italy soon.
