An application to assess Parisian pedestrians’ level of exposure to pollution

What about going out for a walk in Paris depending on the level of pollution? It is now possible thanks to the “Votre air” (“Your air”) application prototype launched during the Futur en Seine festival last June. Developed by AirParif, the Inria and Numtech, the application is based on the data collected by AirParif’s measuring stations, which are scattered throughout the capital, and suggests users, after having geolocated them, the routes on which they will be less exposed to various pollutants such as nitrogen dioxide, ozone and other particles. Its only flaw is that it just assesses the level of exposure to pollution. Indeed, as data management is quite complex, information is provided with a one-hour interval.
