corps_biblio-bato_111206On October 25th, the city of Bordeaux opened the “Biblio.bato”, an experimental library for the 15-35 age group. It is located on the upper deck of the I-Boat, a former ferry boat moored in the “wet docks” district and turned into a cultural place where electronic music and digital arts mix since the end of September.  Inside as well as on the deck, there are no nicely arranged armchairs in each corner but “street art” furniture on casters, pouffes, pear chairs and wall seats. As regards content, you can find video games, films, music, magazines, comic books and mangas, novels… enough to satisfy all culture fans in a district that is undergoing great change. This “Biblio.bato” is one of the achievements listed in the cultural democratisation convention signed on October 6th with the Ministry of Culture and Communication.
