In Strasbourg, cycling is very popular. About 10% of daily trips are made by bike – which is a national record. Last year, the Alsatian capital took the plunge when it decided to set up Vélhop, its own bike hire scheme (BHS). The goal is to reach 20% by 2020.

Rise and walk! This literary injunction sums up the comments made by the contributors to the conference “Developing walking in cities: pedestrian mobility, health and safety,” organised by the Certu on September 15th in Paris, right in the middle of the European Mobility Week.
