Accessibility is a major headache for local authorities who must make roads and public transport networks accessible to people with reduced mobility (PRM) before 2015 in France. Accessibility is a serious issue for most elderly, visually and physically impaired people. Unfortunately, their mobility has rarely been made a top priority and thus has factored very little in the latest string of innovative projects.

The public data release movement should help us transform our territories into more democratic spaces and create a more open, transverse and efficient public service…However this prospect too often becomes an objective in itself, giving way to technical issues concerning the provision of released data while economic issues and underlying political stakes are being neglected in a way that seems completely unjustified.
